Years Competing:
I started with SOS in April 2005...you do the math!

1. Favorite event/race:
Long Race is
usually my best race indoors and is my favorite. My
favorite indoor
events are the Blue Ridge Challenge
and the Jimmy Blair's Georgia Invitational later in
the season.
I haven't done much outdoor racing,
other than the Eastern Seaboard Series, but I have
placed top
2 every year since I started. My favorite
event in the ESS is the 300m time trial. |
|
2. How/Why did you start racing?:
A friend from college, Kevin Gehman, skated with
SOS. We were hanging
out one night skating around
campus and talked to me about coming home with him
the next weekend to skate.
Since he lived only 30
minutes from me, I decided I would go home and get
to see my family and friends
and try a practice with
the team. I had a lot of fun even though the 4-5
year olds were beating me! |
|
3. Who do you most look up to in the
skating world? Why?:
Johnny Ristine: He has been a great friend and
coach.
He had an unfortunate accident at Nationals
in 2007 which left him with some screws and plates
in his ankle.
Doctors told him he might be ready to
put skates on and roll around at the end of the 2008
season.
He has beaten those odds and skated the
Thanksgiving Invitational, looking like the same old
Johnny.
Not only is he a tough competitor on the
floor, he has 3 great kids and a great wife waiting
for him back home.
He's managed to juggle a family,
job, and coaching. Thanks John! |

4. Goals for the 2007-2008 season:
1. To win regional's
2. Get to my finals at indoor nationals
3. Skate outdoor nationals for the first time. |
|
5. Other Hobbies:
I coach
softball in the spring to girls ages 9-10. I also
love to watch the Philadelphia Flyers!
|
|
6. Favorite Quote:
Be who you are, say what you feel because those that
mind don't matter and those that
matter don't mind! |
